LegalPrivacy

Privacy policy.

How we handle the information you share with us — and the limited tracking we use to understand how this site is performing.

Effective May 13, 2026

1. Overview

Glacier Stone & Landscapes("we", "us", "our") is a landscape and stonework practice based in Squamish, British Columbia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information you provide when visiting our website or contacting us through it.

This policy is governed by British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where applicable.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

When you submit the contact form on this site, we collect:

  • Your full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Project location
  • Project budget (optional)
  • The message and project details you choose to share

You provide this information voluntarily for the purpose of inquiring about our services. We do not require you to submit information to browse the site.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, our hosting and analytics providers automatically receive:

  • Standard log data — IP address, user agent, referring page, and time of request
  • Site usage data — pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic location (city/region level), device type, and interactions with on-page elements
  • Marketing-attribution data — see Cookies and tracking below

We do not collect financial information, government identifiers, or sensitive personal information through this site.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your project inquiry and schedule consultations
  • Send you proposals, scope of work, and other project-related communications
  • Improve our service offerings based on the inquiries we receive

We use information collected automatically to:

  • Understand how visitors find and use this site
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve site performance
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising and adjust campaigns accordingly

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use the information you provide via the contact form for unrelated marketing without your consent.

4. Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. These fall into three categories:

Consent management

All non-essential tracking is delivered through Google Tag Manager and respects Google Consent Mode v2. When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent. Until you accept, analytics and advertising cookies are blocked at the source — only the consent record itself is stored (in your browser's localStorage, not as a cookie).

You can revoke consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Essential cookies

Required for the site to function — for example, to maintain session state and protect the contact form from automated abuse. These cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to measure how visitors interact with the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to assign a pseudonymous identifier to your browser, allowing us to see aggregated reports on traffic, page performance, and visitor flow. We do not receive your name or contact details through Google Analytics.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel)

We use the Meta Pixel (also known as the Facebook Pixel) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to build audiences for retargeting. The pixel records page views and key events (such as contact form submissions) and shares them with Meta Platforms, Inc.

You can adjust your ad preferences and limit Meta's use of your data via your Facebook ad preferences and opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly via youradchoices.ca.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. Doing so may affect parts of this site that depend on cookies.

5. Sharing your information

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate our business, or where required by law. These service providers are contractually bound to use your information only for the purposes we direct them to.

The third-party providers we currently use include:

  • Hosting: Vercel Inc. (United States) — serves this website
  • Email delivery: our outbound contact-form processor (United States) — delivers your inquiry to our inbox
  • Analytics: Google LLC — Google Analytics
  • Advertising measurement: Meta Platforms, Inc. — Meta Pixel

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

6. Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose they were collected for — at minimum, for the duration of our project conversation with you, and typically for up to three years after our last contact, in case follow-up questions arise. We may retain information longer where required by law (e.g., for tax records).

Analytics and advertising data is retained according to the provider's policies — Google Analytics retains user-level data for up to 26 months; Meta Pixel data retention is configured per-event.

You may request deletion of your contact information at any time by emailing us at the address below.

7. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. These include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted to and from this site
  • Limited access to personal data within our practice
  • Reliance on reputable service providers with their own security programs

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but make reasonable efforts to protect your information.

8. Storage outside Canada

Our hosting and analytics providers are located in or operate from jurisdictions outside Canada, primarily the United States. Your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in those jurisdictions, where it may be subject to foreign laws — including lawful access by government authorities.

By using this site, you consent to this cross-border processing.

9. Your rights

Under PIPA and PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent for us to collect, use, or disclose your information (note: withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide services to you)
  • File a complaint with a privacy regulator (see below)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address in section 12. We will respond within 30 days, or let you know if we need an extension.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact:

10. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16 through this site. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the home page for a reasonable period after they take effect.
